Watching my roomies work out on the wii fit is probably the funniest thing I have seen in awhile. Too bad I'm too lazy to try it myself.....I am however, not too lazy to snack on those stupid oreo's that I brought. They need to be gone!
Gary came to move me in on Saturday and then after I crammed all my stuff into my liiitle corner of the room, I made my way to Gary's hotel. We hit up the Hard Rock Cafe and it was aaammmaaazzzziiinnnggg as always. We even got the new dessert thingys. Yes, the strawberry vanilla cheesecake is TOTALLY worth the $3.49. After dinner, being stuffed and all, we decided NOT to keep drinking (always making good decisions) and went to borders. I was like a kid in a candy store because I 1. found a place to sit down, 2. read my favorite berenstein bears book, Too Much Junk Food, and 3. 2 little kids were sitting next to me speaking spanish but reading in english. They were soooo cute.
Once we returned to the hotel we watched Love Happens and then I completely passed out during the Miss America Pageant. It was no Miss USA.... Sadly, Gary had to leave on Sunday so I was back at my apt by noon. Having him here was so great but I couldn't kiss him because I had 2 small cold sores. It was so incredibly difficult not to kiss him and it still kills me. I want him here so badly :( And yeah, those stupid cold sores are almost gone because I'm awesome with the Abreva. Damn the poor timing.
Having new roomies is bringing a whole new side of myself. Not anything dramatic, but I am actually doing my dishes. Like right after I use them. Never in my life have I done this. I just hate doing them. Period. But Our kitchen is so tiny that it's absolutely essential. I don't want them to hate me :)
Besides taking a nap and watching the bachelor, that's it for tonight. We'll soon be watching HIMYM!!!!!!!!!!!! right after Elaine comes back from her chocolate/wine run. I'll just stick with my oreo's.
Toots!

The sweetest gesture
Who would have thought the Real Housewives of Orange County would make me cry? Vicki nonetheless... She literally drives me nuts and to be honest, I have no idea why I even watch the show. Everyone knows Real Housewives of New Jersey is better ;-)
Anyway, to recap, Vicki and her husband had a really rough year last season. They seemed to always be on different pages and it was hard on the both of them. However, this season has been all about Vicki understanding that it's not all about her, that she has to give back to her husband for their marriage to work. On the latest episode she decided to show just how much she loved her husband and surprised him with a trip to Turks and Caicos for a secret Wedding Vow Renewal. At dinner Vicki had their waiter bring out their wedding album with a new picture of when they got married and he just sat and teared up. It was the sweetest moment I have ever seen. And then Vicki surprised him by saying they were going to have a wedding the next day. I have to admit that even though Vicki is sooooo annoying, this was a truly lovely gesture. Thanks, Vicki, for making me cry.
On another note, Gary and I have decided to get married on March 26, 2011. Originally we had July 14, 2012, but that is SOOOOOOOOO far away. I couldn't handle not being able to plan anything. So, we have roughly 14 months to go! I am so beyond excited!! I'm currently trying to figure out the colors I want but that is proving more difficult than I originally thought. I like too many damn colors. Next week I'll be meeting with my boss to talk about having the reception at the Hotel Winn and also having phone call with Olive Juice Studios. I'm definitely hitting the ground running, but I like it that way.
Gary and I are also trying very hard to live healthier. We've got quite the plan in place and it will test us both to keep following it. I hope to someday be able to bike for hours at a time or run for an hour or more, but that will take some time. Once I can, I will tell you ALL about it :)
Lastly, I'm taking my very last official class at Luther College. Sadly, it's a science course and not fun at all. It's not terribly difficult but it's science. I really dislike science. Like reeeeeeally. I keep telling myself only so many more days to go. Today, there's only 12 days left (since I'll be leaving early). Only 12 days left!!!
PS: only 18 days until I leave for Chicago!!!!! That only means I have to completely dejunk, pack up all my things, finish my portfolio, read all my senior paper stuff, maybe even a literature review, and prepare for all my interviews....Wow. SO much to do and SO little time.

The best Chicago Trip EVER!
Soooo I'm engaged....(OMG I KNOW!)
Gary and I finally traveled to Chicago, our favorite vacation city (however, if we ever make it to Canada, I'm sure that will take the cake). Actually getting on the road was a bit troublesome as we had errands up the wazzoo to take care of: send our Chegg books back, get my present from Admissions, check our mail, get dolla billz, and sadly say tootles to Kendra and Andrew. Once we made it to Chicago we had to find our Hotel, the Residence Inn in downtown Chicago. The hotel was amazingly adorable. It had a full kitchen and a walk-in shower. Gotta love Marriott :) Thursday night we headed to Second City which was funny once again. Our seats weren't as good as last time but thank god we didn't try to walk the 20+ blocks. We were smart enough to take the CTA...
Friday was the big day for plenty of reasons. To me: we were going to watch Avatar in 3-D and go to Lawry's. For Gary: Avatar and proposing. Avatar was AMAZING! I was a wee bit nervous that I'd get motion sickness but surprisingly, I managed the 2.5 hours just fine. After the movie, we went back to the hotel to relax and get ready for Lawry's. While watching Wheel of Fortune and finishing my make-up, I overheard Gary counting, but being preoccupied, it didn't really phase me. Once I was finished, Gary wanted to take a picture. Of course I thought it was because we looked really nice, but for Gary he reallly wanted to pull out the box when the timer went off. But he got scared. So then after the picture we hugged and he began saying sweet things (that I can no longer remember). The moment I knew he was going to ask me was when I tried to put my arms around his side, but his left hand wouldn't move out of his pocket. At that moment, Gary went down on one knee and then I started balling. Of course I said yes. and the ring is breathtakingly beautiful. To this day I can't stop staring. Then we went to Lawry's (SO GOOD). To finish the night, we celebrated with a bottle of wine that took us literally 10 minutes to open. Stupid cork wouldn't move.
Saturday was our day to shop, shop, shop. I bought some dresses and he bought some comics. It was perfect. Then we went to Harry Carey's for dinner. Yum Yum. Then we booked it to the theatre to watch Up in the Air which is super good too.
This trip will never be forgotten. I love Gary so much and I can't wait to marry him.
