Family Vacation 2018 x TWO - Recap!

Is it spring yet? I'm not typically so over winter like I am this year but all of this snow has me wishing for clear sidewalks, bright blue skies, and budding flowers like no other. Today was a lovely reminder that Spring is clearly on its way!!!!!

One thing I always look forward to every year is taking the boys on adventures. I have a couple of thoughts for things we can do this year but we have yet to nail anything down. This definitely has me reminiscing about what we did with the boys not once, but TWICE in 2018. Truthfully, we may have to do this again in 2019 because I cannot wait to check out the Chicago location!

Where did we go, you ask? Well, GREAT WOLF LODGE, of course! This is a highly rated indoor waterpark that has locations all over the US. We love that there are a few different room options to choose from that suits your needs, restaurants on site, as well as a variety of other activities to explore. This is a place great for little babes all the way up to your older teens so it really is a family friendly place.

First Great Wolf Visit  |  Bloomington, MN  |  Saturday, March 31 - Monday, April 2

We chose a Kid-Themed Cabin Suite so that the boys would have their own little bunk room. This was great so that they could sleep while Mommy & Daddy could stay up and watch some TV. We purchased two Pup Passes so the boys could check out some of the amenities like creating a stuffed animal, enjoy candy and an ice cream cone, and play at the arcade. We also bought a food package so that we could try out some of the food at the hotel. It wasn't the most budget-friendly vacation but we did enjoy having those extras for our first trip to Great Wolf.

The boys LOVED the waterpark and the arcade very much. We went to the pool area so many times during our three day stay so it was totally worth it. They loved the hotel and begged us over and over to go back to the hotel when we got home!

Second Great Wolf Visit  |  Wisconsin Dells, WI  |  Sunday, November 18 - Wednesday, November 21

We couldn't resist taking advantage of a holiday week so decided on this trip in November a few months prior. We were excited to bring the boys back to a hotel but even more excited that they could enjoy the waterpark again. I was very interested in cutting costs this time around so we opted to go during the early park of the week which allowed us to stay for an extra day but still be cheaper than our trip in March! I also prepped a ton of food so that we only ate out for two of our meals. Lastly, we did schedule a little outing so we could get some fresh air too at the local trampoline park. The only thing that bummed me out was that this location didn't have a bowling alley like the last one. We didn't end up using it that time so still looking forward to that the next time we decide to go!

If you're interested in what I made/reheated in the room, we had the following things:

Breakfast
breakfast burritos
oatmeal and fruit

Lunch
ham & cheese sandwiches, veggies
left overs

Snacks
fruit/veggie packs
cheese sticks

Dinner
chicken tacos (BIG hit!)
shortcut veggie ragu
