Baby Jack {Five Months!}

Our sweet little peanut is five months old! It's been another INSANELY busy time for us but it didn't seem to fly by unnoticed like June did. Days, weeks and months do go by pretty quickly now but I am so thankful to have two little guys to keep us grounded!

It seems to me that Jack has reached a lot of milestones right around the time that Owen did. It's been fun to read back at Owen's updates and see the similarities! Just like Owen, Jack rolled over this past month! Crazy little guy loves to flip over to his tummy, then immediately wishes to go back but is still unable to do so. Of course, we come to his rescue in a hot second because he's crying up a storm! Unlike Owen, Jack is also able to flip over without using his hands - so at night when he's having trouble falling back asleep, it's often because he's flipped over in his swaddle. Silly guy.

Jack also LOVES to laugh. It is soooo adorable I can hardly stand it. Daycare has said that they don't think there's ever been a baby that giggles so much. It's the best when he giggles at pretty much nothing. I set him in the jumperoo and you'll hear a chuckle every now and again. And the jumperoo - Jack can stay in that for a really long time. He really loves to play with it but it also allows him to look around.

Likes: kicking and squirming about, waking up early, snuggling, watching his big brother, listening to people singing and being danced around, talking (cooing & squealing), tracking (& recognizing) our voices and movements and lights, watching everything, giggling, blowing raspberries, sticking out his tongue

Sleeping through the night is still a major struggle.....for all of us. I've come to realize that sharing a room with an infant is NOT ideal for us. Oh how I wished we had a third bedroom. Any time Jack starts to cry, instead of letting him work on settling himself down like we did with Owen, we always come to his rescue. We've trained him to need us. So now it's time to train him to not need us, don't you think? When our downstairs bathroom/play area is complete, this little peanut is moving down there! Weekend naps might be a little interesting for awhile but I think having Jack in a separate area while sleep training is a good idea.
